An oak-framed extension to provide a much-needed transition and living space connecting two separate individual buildings separated by an awkward external patio area. The original building, (converted former stables) is very narrow and long in plan. The proposal seeks to provide a multi-task solution providing a connecting link with the existing games room with additional living space so the client can enjoy the extensive views of the open countryside. A radiating glulam oak frame by Carpenter Oak is glazed providing extensive views out towards the Blackdown Hills. Large hinged aluminium glazed doors can be fully opened to provide extended living space onto new external patio areas. The kitchen has been opened up to provide open-plan kitchen/dining living space suitable for contemporary living accommodation. Additional remodelling of existing internal spaces has also been undertaken to provide extensive utility and additional living space.
